The MBAA would like to invite MBA students at UNO to participate in
MBAA Company Visit to TD Ameritrade on November 14, 2008. This event will be
an excellent opportunity for students to expand their business network
and to learn about the TD Ameritrade, listed as one of “Forbes 2007 Best
Big Companies” and rated the”2007 best Web browser- based online broker”
by Barron’s. The event will include:

* Company tour of its facilities and operations by company
representatives They will also provide insights into Ameritrade’s
corporate culture and work philosophy to give MBA students exposure to a
new industry and the company.

* An in-depth presentation by one of the senior directors of TD
Ameritrade on its marketing strategy, followed up by a Q&A session.

* An introduction into the unique problems TD Ameritrade has faced in the financial crisis of 2008, and its strategies to mitigate risk and keep its business model viable, followed up by a Q&A session.

* After an appx end time of 7.30 pm, a social gathering will be held at
the Ice House (on the NW corner of 108th & Maple, next to La Mesa’s)
to discuss and digest the evening’s information about the
company and its industry in an informal setting. Student are free to
attend this gathering and leave when they wish. Ameritrade’s company
representatives are also invited to attend if they wish.

The event is limited to only 30 students. Please RSVP as soon as
possible on the MBAA website. The event will be on a “first come first
serve” basis.

Invitation to all CBA Graduate Students and Professors

Hello fellow students, professors,

It’s time to get into the swing again for Fall classes. To greet new and current students alike, the MBAA has coordinated a welcoming party, to be hosted by Dean Lou Pol and wife Janet. Janet and Lou have again graciously offered to host this gathering at their house. Free food and drinks will be provided. This will be a great chance to meet the Dean, CBA professors, and fellow students for a relaxing evening.

Date and Time: Friday, September 12, 2008 from 6:00 pm to 11 pm
Location: Lou and Janet Pol’ house — 14520 Burdette Street (Go to 144th & Blondo, head west on Blondo street, turn onto the first street on the right, and then turn onto the second street on the right. The Pol’s
house is the second one on the left side of Burdette Street)
Food: Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, and Vegetarian Dogs on the grill, a few salads and desserts will also be provided. Guests are encouraged to bring additional side dishes.
Drinks: Bottled Water, Soda, and other drinks.

*All MBA, EMBA, MACC, MECON, other CBA graduate students, and CBA professors are invited to attend! In order to have an idea of how many will attend, please RSVP at the MBAA website: www.unombaa.org.   Please be sure to sign the attendance sheet for auditing purposes. There will also

“2008 MBA End of Year Celebration - Congrats, You Survived!”

Friday, May 16th, 2008, at the Dean’s house at
14520 Burdette Street, Omaha, NE.

The MBAA invites all MBA students, faculty, staff and their friends and family to a party to celebrate another year well done. The students have gone through numerous tests and late night studying, the faculty has put in long hours of lectures and paper grading, and the staff has kept the program all in one piece, yet again! It’s now time to celebrate all the hard work everyone has done with an informal party at the Dean’s House.

The Dean, Louis Pol, and his wife, Janet, will again graciously open up their home to all MBA students, faculty, and staff, and would like to see every one of us there. The address is 14520 Burdette Street, Omaha, NE.

The party will start at 5:30 pm, but guests are free to arrive and leave as they wish.

The MBAA will provide the following:
*A main course of Chicken and Bratwurst
*Refreshments, including soda, water, Red Bull, and “other” drinks
*Games and other ice-breaking activities are also planned. Prizes will be awarded!

Please bring a side dish or a snack item to share. This End of Year Celebration will be an excellent opportunity to meet up with fellow students and faculty outside of the classroom, in a relaxed and friendly setting. The Dean will also make a short announcement about the progress of the MBA program and proved insight into the future direction of CBA in general.
